Ingram Micro steps in to offer Office 365 referral programme

Following news that Microsoft has cut Office 365 advisor partner commissions for new subscriptions, Ingram Micro has saved the day, offering partners the opportunity to boost their rewards by redirecting customers to the company's Micro Cloud referral site.

Ingram Micro's initiative means existing advisor partners will continue to get their commission on Microsoft Office 365 Advisor subscriptions and can sell new subscriptions through the company without losing the benefits they had with Microsoft's own Office 365 Advisor Program.

To take advantage of the new commission structure, partners direct customers through to Ingram Micro via web banners or e-commerce links on their site. End users can then purchase their subscriptions direct from Ingram Micro, while resellers pocket the commission.

“Designed for partners looking for quick and seamless entry into the cloud services market, recurring revenue streams, or a way to establish a Microsoft Cloud practice without the financial investment, the Ingram Micro Cloud Referral Program delivers the expertise, resources and tools to convert existing website traffic into cloud sales,” said Nimesh Dave, executive vice president of global cloud, Ingram Micro.

“We are pleased to now expand our Cloud Referral Program globally and provide reseller partners even more ways to profit in the cloud.”

The company added there will be extra benefits to redirecting through to Ingram Micro for subscription purchases too. Ingram Micro handles the direct customer billing, provisioning and post-sales support so resellers can concentrate on getting the sales and earning revenues, rather than the extra paperwork associated with setting up the product once the purchase has been made.

“The Ingram Micro Cloud Referral Program will help more businesses quickly and easily move to the cloud, while at the same time continuing to build on the success of the Cloud Solution Provider program,” said David Smith, Vice President of Worldwide SMB at Microsoft Corp.

“We are happy to work alongside Ingram Micro Cloud as we deliver new business opportunities and even greater value to our mutual partner community.”

Resellers can keep track of their commission via a portal that shows customer details and transactional reporting.
