Tech Data expands telephony options for Microsoft partners
New services help turn Teams into a fully-fledged calling system, company claims
Tech Data UK has announced it has expanded its telephony offering for Microsoft CSP partners, adding three new options that enable resellers to add voice calling to the Teams collaboration platform.
Available now, the IT solutions provider said the move will provide partners with the opportunity to deliver added value to their Microsoft 365 and Office 365 customers.
Tech Data already has an existing partnership with SoftApp for the SIP trunk-independent 'the Voice of O365' solution. Now, with the availability of Microsoft Business Voice, the firm can provide resellers with three distinct options to add calling features for Teams.
The first is an 'all-in' solution that provides the Microsoft telephony system along with call minutes, which is managed through Tech Data's own StreamOne cloud platform.
The second is a Direct Routing SIP trunk-independent offering, which allows end users to retain their existing telco contracts when using SoftApp's 'the Voice of O365' solution.
Thirdly, a Direct Routing and calling plan combines the SoftApp solution and Business Voice to offer a Teams Direct Routing module, as well as a domestic calling minutes bundle.
"Tech Data is enabling Microsoft CSP partners to deliver modern workplace solutions to their customers and with these voice calling options, they can extend and enhance the functionality of Teams and turn it into a fully-fledged telephony system," said Nick Stancliffe, business development manager at Tech Data UK's Microsoft Cloud Solutions segment.

Alongside the three options, Tech Data also said it can provide a full range of devices designed to work with Teams through Maverick AV Solutions for customers looking to use Teams for collaborative meeting spaces.
The firm's "comprehensive choice" of hardware includes large-format interactive displays, cameras and audio equipment, as well as extras such as connectors and cables, from leading audio-visual vendors.
"We see this as an ideal proposition for partners to take to SMB customers and a great way to drive revenues and cloud consumption," Stancliffe added.
