BRITA implements Intershop and Azure for globalisation plans
The new subscription-based model offers the flexibility and scalability for BRITA's commerce plans
Water filtration company BRITA has implemented Intershop's commerce platform to help boost digital innovation and improve the customer experience.
The firm's internationalisation strategy was a key driver for the move. As it adds more geographies to its business, it needs to stay on top of customer growth and Intershop offered this, the company explained.
"Being able to scale on a global level is a high priority for our business," said Peyman Pakzad, senior digital manager of BRITA's International division. "Therefore, the internationalisation capabilities and subscription features of the Intershop Commerce Management B2X platform meet our business and marketing strategy perfectly."
BRITA integrated the Intershop Commerce Suite with Microsoft Azure as part of Intershop's move to a subscription based model. This offers the flexibility BRITA needs, offering customers a much easier way to use its services.
The company opted to use Intershop's back-end technology and Azure with the Magnolia content management system, which it explained offers the best front-end experience for its B2C and B2B customers.
"Having the possibility to integrate the commerce platform seamlessly with our content management system and other BRITA IT solutions using Intershops powerful REST API was essential for our decision," added Joachim Blmeke, BRITA's director of international business applications.
BRITA is one of the first customers to use Intershop's subscription model, which offers a solid choice for consumer-led products, Intershop said.

"In the age of the customer, easy to manage user centered services are absolutely inevitable," Axel Khler, COO at Intershop, added. "Furthermore, all desired features should be accessible anywhere and interlinked, regardless whether the customer uses the smartphone, the tablet, in the store, etc."
