Colt Technology has been awarded Amazon Web Services (AWS) Networking Competency status, which recognises businesses that have reached a very specific level of technical competency as well as proving customer satisfaction.

To achieve Networking Competency Status, businesses must have a deep knowledge of AWS and be able to deliver solutions to customers seamlessly, resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction. This sets them apart from regular AWS Partner Network (APN) members that haven't reached such a level of knowledge.

"At Colt, we are honoured to achieve Networking Competency status, said Rajiv Datta, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Colt. "An intelligent network is a vital element of the cloud experience. Colt Dedicated Cloud Access (DCA) establishes a new standard compared to existing WAN services or internet connections.

"In addition, our On Demand portfolio offers the same scalable and adaptable capabilities, historically associated with cloud services. Colt is focused on helping companies achieve their technology goals by leveraging the flexibility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides."

Colt's SDN-enabled DCA On Demand offering ticked all the boxes for AWS, including its ability to request new connections into the AWS cloud in real time, which vastly reduces the time it takes to implement a more reliable connection compared to waiting weeks or even months for a regular telco to implement it using the public internet.

The service's scalability was also recognised as a redeeming feature, allowing businesses to scale their infrastructure up or down according to demand using a portal.

Colt's SDN-enabled DCA On Demand offers a flexible pricing plan too, including per-hour pricing to ensure the customer can choose a plan that best suits its needs.
