Outsourcery confirms part sale of mobile business to Daisy
Mobile business spin-off to aid UC focus, says Outsourcery

Outsourcery has today confirmed the sale of its Vodafone mobile voice and data business to Daisy Group. It says the on-going cloud services and O2 mobile voice and data businesses has been spun out into a new company prior to the sale and will continue to operate under the Outsourcery brand.
Daisy announced last month is was to purchase Outsourcery's Vodafone mobile business for £12m cash.
Cloud specialist Outsourcery says the sale of the Vodafone base means that it will “continue to shape its product offering to unlock fully integrated unified communications (UC) solutions, integrating mobile voice and data solutions provided by O2 as part of the existing relationship.” It says mobility will continue to be a key focus for the business as part of the overall UC product mix, and further announcements regarding strategic partnerships will be announced shortly.
Outsourcery joint CEO Piers Linney reckons the deal “has resulted in the creation of a new and focused group of companies, boasting the leading teams in the industry.”
Adds Outsourcery’s other joint CEO, Simon Newton: “Our aim is to build on our current successes, to create the UK’s leading cloud services provider for our customers and channel partners. We are also excited to be working more closely with O2 to provide mobile voice and data solutions for the next generation of mobile, which will be increasingly integrated with cloud-based unified communications solutions.”
As part of its long-term strategy, Outsourcery has invested in a new virtualised cloud platform based on Microsoft’s Hyper-V Cloud, which will be launched in Q2.
