Rise, the Gloucester-based provider of cloud infrastructure and hosted services, has announced the promotion of product & IT services director James Henigan to managing director.

Andy Burton, CEO Rise, describes Henigan as “exceptionally qualified for the position”. He says: “The intricate understanding of the company and its inner workings that he has developed over the past three years, made the decision even easier. We all look forward to continued success with James at the helm, moving into what will no doubt be a crucial period for us and the industry as a whole.”

Having arrived from Microsoft in 2010 as head of products, Henigan was subsequently appointed to the executive team the following year as product and IT services director, where he lead the company’s activities in defining and managing a portfolio of IT and cloud services for customers and partners.

In his new role, Rise says Henigan will refine the firm’s partner programme and help partners target and capture new business, add more direct customer education and continueto evolve the technical service offering and platform.

Says Henigan: “We have a fantastic platform to build on here, both to help our current partners really make the most of the cloud opportunity that is before us, and also recruiting new partners that are committed to transform the way their customers run their IT.”
