Cloud4Wi has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with VAD Cloud Distribution to extend its global reach to the UK and Ireland.
Cloud4Wi is a cloud platform to manage and monetise Wi-Fi that resellers can offer as a managed service to their customers. Under the agreement, Cloud Distribution partners will also be able to offer their own branded and managed Wi-Fi hotspot service around which they can deliver additional services.
Scott Dobson, co-founder of Cloud Distribution, highlighted the fact that end-users expect free Wi-Fi: “Cloud4Wi will enable our partners to take full advantage of the growth in social Wi-Fi, organisations’ desire to monetise their Wi-Fi and the delivery of tailored marketing by tracking and analysing behaviour patterns. Cloud4Wi not only complements our existing portfolio, but also enables our partners to extend their own solutions by offering their own branded and managed Wi-Fi hotspot service around which they can layer additional bespoke services.”
iPorta is a Cloud Distribution partner that specialises in the education sector and is one of the UK’s early adopters of the Cloud4Wi platform. Managing director, Graham Huggins, comments: “There is a lot of interest from the education sector around the managed service we are delivering based on the Cloud4Wi platform, particularly around the marketing and analytics element. As an example it allows them to update students with useful information on lectures, extra-curricular classes, social events, conferences and exhibitions, as well as ensure visitors get the most of an open day – all via the wireless network. And the fact that the platform carries their own brand helps strengthen the engagement with the end-users.”
