Leeds-headquartered transformational technology specialist CloudCoCo has continued its leadership shake-up with the appointment of Mark Allen as its new head of cyber.

Founded in 2018, the IT services and communications company focuses on network connectivity, cloud, collaboration tech, and cyber security. The firm currently has 140 employees on its books and over 1,000 clients across the country, with a turnover of £25 million.

Allen brings 18 years of technical and commercial experience, having worked for a number of telecoms, software, and digital transformation organizations during his career. His last three roles have focused on strengthening the MSP offerings within UK ISPs

He will leverage that experience to lead CloudCoCo’s security offering as the firm looks to chase down its target of becoming a £100 million revenue business.

Director of group sales Gary Saunders said the company is now in a strong position to shift customers to the cloud for free, following its recently unveiled multi-cloud proposition for those looking to hyperscale.

“This completely contradicts long-standing misconceptions that a cloud journey is cost prohibitive,” he said. “But as they continue on that journey, it is important that we understand and support them with improving their security posture — that’s where Mark comes in.

Cyber will be a core pillar of our growth as we continue with our plan to reach £100m turnover, so as we advance our tech-agnostic position in the market, it’s critical we have ultra-experienced people in post to do the job.”

Allen’s appointment is the latest in a string of leadership hires for CloudCoCo, which included the arrival of Lee Thatcher as the firm's new head of cloud back in April.

The company also recently revealed an exclusive partnership with Leeds-based large-scale digital innovation specialist Abstract Tech, while a strategic agreement was also unveiled with Ingram Micro UK, which the firm says will allow it to offer leading-edge vendor cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

“It’s a fantastic time to join CloudCoCo,” Allen commented. “The business is making waves in what is currently a crowded market, which sees most MSPs ultimately offering the same thing — everyone talks about being cloud agnostic, but few people are actually doing anything about it. I am excited by the opportunity to join the disruption.”
