Tech supplier Logica is launching a cloud service to provide private and public sector customers with secure access to Microsoft software.

The firm claims the private cloud service will allow customers to benefit from increased efficiency and security as the services are hosted in Logica’s European data centres.

The private cloud offering will be initially released in the UK, Finland, Sweden and Norway.

The software offered through the service includes Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V, Microsoft System Center 2012 and Microsoft Lync 2010.

Amanda Mesler, president of Logica Business Consulting, said the firm’s clients are looking for opportunities to transform their businesses and save money through cloud.

“We are committed to supporting their transformation by providing solutions that meet their needs, whether it is public, private or hybrid cloud,” she said.

“Our local presence makes us the perfect fit to deliver Logica Local Cloud services to public and commercial sectors. Our strength in security means privacy concerns are addressed and our clients can be confident that their information is safe and legally compliant,” she added.

Mark Hill, vice president of Microsoft’s Enterprise Partner Group, said: “Logica’s offering is designed to give customers the flexibility to choose a cloud solution that meets their specialised messaging and collaboration needs.”
