Cloud Sherpas buys out WaveAdept
The Google App reseller has bought up yet another competitor to bolster its portfolio.

Cloud Sherpas has continued its attempt to dominate the Google App reseller market by acquiring yet another competitor.
WaveAdept specialises in implementing Google Apps and other cloud-based services for businesses. Its immediate market is New Zealand but US-based Cloud Sherpas wanted to add the company to its list of acquisitions.
Cloud Sherpas is the biggest distributor of Google Apps outside of Google itself and last month saw it pick up two other firms – Beloit Solutions Group and Omnetic. These were both based in the US as well though, so its latest acquisition shows a desire to move further abroad as it grows.
Although the details of the deal were not disclosed, Ben Kepes, analyst and unpaid advisor to WaveAdept, did not think money was on the agenda.
“I’d be surprised if there was any real cash involved in the deal,” he wrote on his blog. “Rather Cloud Sherpas continues on its path to building a global brand and can now claim a presence not only in New Zealand, but one that an easily be transferred to Australia and further a field in APAC (Asia Pacific market).”
“In return, WaveAdept gets to avoid the tyranny that being a tiny player causes and can leverage the credibility of the global Cloud Sherpas brand.”
WaveAdept will lose its identity, however, as it will be re-branded as a district office of Cloud Sherpas.
