Huawei embeds Tableau in its big data platform

Huawei's FusionInsight big data platform and Tableau's data visualisation software can now be cross-authenticated the companies said, with the aim of making it easier for businesses to understand the data they extract.

FusionInsight combines Hadoop, massively parallel processing database (MPPDB) and big data cloud services to deliver data insights both internally and externally in real time. By using Tableau's data visualisation software, Huawei hopes this information can be transformed into easy-to-understand measurable outcomes, helping companies plan their wider business strategy.

Ren Zhipeng, president of IT cloud computing and big data platform product line at Huawei, said: "Our collaboration with Tableau extends the value to our customers with even more comprehensive and diversified big data solutions, helping them to utilise the value of data effectively, as well as explore new business growth."

Huawei expects its partnership with Tableau to let firms produce a high volume of structured and unstructured data in a way that's easy to understand for everyone in the organisation.

These insights can be easily shared across the organisation, the firms claimed, ensuring stakeholders can action any urgent issues quickly.

"Tableau's collaboration with Huawei aims to enable more people to see and understand their data more easily", said Robert Green, director of product management at Tableau. "Tableau's wide range of technology partners help our customers make the most out of their analytics investments."
