Lenovo has announced a slew of new products designed to follow their users wherever they choose to work from, whether that be their home, the office, or a combination of both.
The new mobile workstations aim to increase productivity in the hybrid working environment, as more companies opt to allow their employees to combine working remotely with going into the office for meetings with clients, co-working, or other in-person events.
The new post-pandemic working model has prompted Lenovo to update its ThinkPad hardware offering with three new mobile workstations: the P1, P15, and P17.
Equipped with the latest 11th generation Intel Core and Xeon mobile CPUs as well as Nvidia’s RTX A5000 GPU architecture, all three products are ISV-certified and Nvidia Studio validated, meaning that they will be powerful enough to easily handle the most mission-critical workflows.
"These are especially necessary as staff continue to work remotely and transition to a hybrid work environment”, according to Bob Pette, VP of Professional Visualization at Nvidia.
“Lenovo’s ThinkPad P Series mobile workstations are powered by Nvidia RTX GPUs and deliver powerful graphics and real-time rendering that let people collaborate and work from anywhere they need to,” he said.
Apart from the three new P-series ThinkPads, Lenovo has also unveiled the curved, 34-inch, ultra-wide ThinkVision P34w-20 monitor which, with its 21:9 aspect ratio, makes it easier to multitask while also limiting the negative health effects of long hours in front of the screen, thanks to its Natural Low Blue Light technology.
Lastly, the company also announced the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock, which features a single 300w power supply, allowing users to ensure that their mobile workstations never run out of power.
Lenovo’s announcement comes as Amanda Cusdin, chief people officer at Sage, told IT Pro that “it is abundantly clear that the future of work approach should be, where possible, based on a hybrid model”.

We believe working within an adaptable structure rather than a fixed policy is best. This is an ongoing process of experimentation, which will assess what delivers the best outcomes for all,” she added.
The ThinkPad P1, P15 and P17 will all be available in July, starting at $2,099 (£1,506), $1,749 (£1255), and $1,779 (1,276), respectively.
The new ThinkVision P34w-20 monitor and ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock will be available this autumn for $899 (£645) and $419 (£300), respectively.
