LG Electronics and AV distributor Midwich have unwrapped a new B2B TV range for the hospitality sector.

LG says the Commercial Pro range is designed to replace the existing practice of consumer TVs being sold into the business market with inappropriate warranties. The vendor aims to drive sales in the sector by supplying the range with a business warranty.

The Commercial Pro package includes five 720P models, ranging from 22” – 42” screens and four, full HD 1080P models, with screens from 32” to 47”. Both feature hotel mode settings – including menu lock out and max volume control along with RS232 control. A USB cloning facility, integrated Freeview tuners and speakers are also common to the range.

The LG package is initially available exclusively via Norfolk-based Midwich. It will not be available via any e-commerce or retail channels, thereby providing a sales channel where resellers can be confident of maintaining margins, says the firm.

LG recently strengthened its commitment to its B2B business with the launch of its new Business Solutions Partner Programme, which has now signed up more than 500 participating resellers.

“We’re delighted to be working with a partner as experienced as Midwich and with its long established routes to market,” says Barrie Guy, general manager, Business to Business Group. “Midwich has an excellent track record in the leisure and hospitality sector with its specialist teams and I am sure that together, we can maximise the demand for these products in the hospitality industry and beyond.”

Darren Lewitt, divisional director at Midwich, says: “The B2B market has been waiting a long time for a ‘Pro-sumer’ type solution with a full commercial warranty. The new range of Commercial Pro products from LG offer resellers a TV-based solution with a commercial warranty and no internet price competition. These products are ideal for use in business, education, hotels and hospitality. Commercial Pro won’t be sold via the internet so resellers should be able to make the type of profit margins usually associated with commercial solutions.”
