Sharp Europe has announced a new European IT Services division, as the tech giant looks to further boost its business in the region.
The move builds on the company’s recent acquisition of ITpoint AG, a leading Swiss IT Services business that specialises in providing a sophisticated suite of integrated workplace solutions and managed services. It also builds on its previous buyout of UK-based IT services firm Complete IT back in 2019.
Together, the acquisitions provide the foundations for Sharp’s new European IT Services division and establish the company as a digital transformation provider, it said.
The new division will be fronted by Complete IT founder Colin Blumenthal, who takes on the role of vice president IT Services Europe.
“This is an important strategic milestone which will transform Sharp’s business in Europe, and enable us to continue to invest and focus on growing a service portfolio that adapts to the changing needs of our current and future customers,” Blumenthal said.
As part of its new IT Services offering, Sharp has established the European Technology Support Centre (ETSC) – the firm’s own pan-European IT Service Helpdesk.
Based in Warsaw, the hub will be run by Sharp employees who will provide 24/7 multi-language helpdesk support for IT services.
Working in conjunction with local operations, the ETSC will support the company’s customer base with a host of IT services, ranging from cyber security to active system monitoring.
The combination of capabilities sourced from this new IT Services division will enable Sharp to add a new dimension of smart office services to its MFP, display, ePoS, and laptop offerings, it said, which will ultimately help extend the value chain of its products.
“Further expanding this new division of our business is a strategic priority, and we are excited to bring these new offerings and add value to our customer base across Europe,” Blumenthal added.
