It’s all about Bass at Lenovo
Andy Bass confirmed as Lenovo’s director of SMB and channel business

Former Toshiba UK CEO Andy Bass has stepped into Darren Phelps’ shoes as UK&I director of SMB and channel at Lenovo.
Phelps parted ways with the vendor in June, and reports have been circulating that Bass (pictured) would fill the role before Lenovo confirmed the news this morning.
Bass was most recently group sales & marketing director at CMS Distribution – a role he held for around 12 months.
Bass will be responsible for driving sales of Lenovo PC, tablet, server and storage products across the channel. In addition, he is has been given the task of driving partner growth and expanding the vendor’s SMB customer base.
Based in Lenovo’s UK office in Hook, Bass will report to David McQuarrie, VP and general manager North and UKI, Lenovo.
Says McQuarrie: “The channel is the cornerstone of business in the UK and Ireland. As we pursue our ambitions to drive increased growth within the channel, we are pleased to have announced such an important addition to our team.”
“Lenovo is a strong brand with bold ambitions for the European market. Following Lenovo’s recent acquisitions it is an exciting time to be joining the business,” says Bass. “I look forward to working closely with our channel partners in the UK and Ireland to capitalise on our complete end-to-end hardware portfolio and drive continued growth across all products categories.”
