BigTec signs up Avi and Rubrik

BigTec has signed up Avi Networks and Rubrik to add application delivery and services as well as converged backup to its portfolio of technologies.

Big Tec will distribute Avi Networks’ next generation Application Delivery Controller (ADC). The distie will target an initial group of focused partners with technical and marketing support to pursue high margin enterprise opportunities.

It says that partners looking at the the Avi Vantage Platform will find a product that enables customers to deploy application delivery services in minutes rather than weeks. The solution is fully automated through 100 percent RESTful APIs and can run on commodity X86 servers, lowering the average TCO for application delivery by more than 70 percent in many cases, it claims.

“Avi is an exciting player in the ADC space and the only innovator with a pure SDN-like vision that isn’t constrained by the legacy of hardware,” says Jason Dance, managing director at BigTec UK.

“Sealing our agreement on an exclusive basis means we can really focus and invest in what we believe is a very significant market opportunity. All over the world, Avi has been winning business at an impressive rate and we see that pattern being repeated in the UK and across Europe.”

Big Tec also announced its distribution agreement with Rubrik. The firm has developed a converged data management platform to deliver web-scale backup for virtual environments.

Dance says that Big Tec will add Rubrik its reference architecture.

“As virtualisation becomes more prevalent, backup becomes an increasingly big problem – but not with Rubrik,” he says.

“Recovery delays, complex management and scalability constraints are a thing of the past, and operating costs are significantly reduced. Our partners are very excited about how Rubrik is turning a global multi-billion dollar market on its head by redefining the possibilities, processes and economics of data management.”

Bill Cordero, head of worldwide channel at Rubrik says his firm chose the distie because of its “their track record of success in next generation infrastructure and strong investment in go-to-market support for their partners.”
