Mayflex has signed an agreement with Big Switch Networks, a provider of supportable hyper-scaling Software Defined Networking (SDN) products.

With roots in the original Stanford research team that invented SDN, the company is widely considered a pioneer in the space. The company’s Big Monitoring Fabric is an entry level monitoring fabric for existing networks, and its flagship Big Cloud Fabric is an advanced bare metal SDN switching fabric intended for new datacentre pods such as private cloud, big data and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). It integrates with technologies like VMWare NSX and OpenStack, allowing for hyper-scale datacentre networks to be deployed on bare metal switches in a cost efficient way.

“Mayflex is delighted to add Big Switch Networks to its networking product portfolio,” says Anita Mistry, director of sales, networking at Mayflex. “This product set will allow us to provide customers with the opportunity to keep ahead of their competitors by deploying proven, supportable SDN technology now.

“With the addition of Peter Williams to the team, our pre-sales Software Defined Networks consultant, I am confident that Mayflex can provide our partners with an exciting solution which will provide enhanced revenue making opportunities for them,” she adds.

Mayflex has also announced the agreement reached with Edge Core networks, a specialist in 100G/40G/10G bare metal switches, to complement the BSN solution.

Dean Sheffield, sales director at Big Switch Networks comments: “Big Switch is excited to partner with Mayflex to introduce our next-generation SDN solutions to the UK market.

“Mayflex’s track record of introducing innovative technology that offers partners an edge with differentiated solutions is an ideal fit for Big Switch's hyperscale-inspired networking solutions for any enterprise.”
