Schneider Electric bolsters EcoStruxure IT Expert platform
The announcements aim to make remote management more efficient and reliable
Schneider Electric has announced a trio of enhancements to its management platform EcoStruxure IT Expert, as the digital transformation firm moves to improve remote management and monitoring of data centres and edge deployments.
Announcing the additions, Schneider Electric said the new solutions and enhancements will make remote operations more secure, efficient and reliable.
Available now, the firm's EcoStruxure IT Expert platform now boasts AI-supported UPS battery health assessment, which the firm describes as an "industry breakthrough of predictive capability".
There's also APC by Schneider Electric Smart UPS available, with pre-installed Network Management Card 3 (NMC3) for advanced cybersecurity, while the new NetShelter 9000 Series Switched Rack Power Distribution Unit (PDU) offers increased remote management reliability in a wider temperature range.
"Schneider Electric has always been on the forefront of innovation and since launching our EcoStruxure IT platform, we've been simplifying remote operations in the cloud and at the edge," commented Jonathan Healey, VP and general manager of Software and Management Systems at Schneider Electric.
"With these enhancements, we are driving forward the latest technology to help data centre and IT customers be more predictive and provide business continuity from anywhere, anytime."
EcoStructure IT is Schneider Electric's data centre management solution that enables remote management from almost any device and at any time. The platform is designed to enable data centres to maintain operations and availability when there are minimal or no qualified staff available on-premises.

With its new UPS battery health assessment, users will now have access to insight into the UPS with a score card that predicts the end of life for batteries as well as recommendations to improve their health and lifespan.
Alongside that, the new APC Smart-UPS enables customers to remotely monitor and manage their physical IT infrastructure at anytime and anywhere, the firm says. Landing in North America first, the APC Smart-UPS SMX is available with the new NMC3 enhancement pre-installed, adding advanced cybersecurity and better performance thanks to a new processor with 1GB ethernet connection.
Lastly, the NetShelter 9000 Series Switched PDU, with its NMC3 and hybrid outlets for higher temperatures, will also enable users to maintain power while working in challenging environments – such as those with higher power densities, temperatures and additional connected devices.
