Level 3 has announced it has shifted its management team's positions, with former interim lead Andrew Duggan becoming CTO and Atilla Tinic becoming the company's CIO.

Dugan will be tasked with leading the company's global network technology, architecture, engineering, systems and security. His 30 years' experience building telecommunications networks, switching platforms and service platforms will prove vital to help the company move forward to address rapidly evolving technologies.

“I take great pride in having been part of the Level 3 team since the near inception of the company and in having had a hand in building our global network,” Dugan said. “As CTO, I’m looking forward to continuing to evolve our global strategy to deliver solutions our customers need while providing an exceptional customer experience.”

Tinic will be tasked with managing the company's global IT organisation, working closely with the company's marketing department to help innovate new services for customers.

“I believe technology can be a powerful enabler of transformative innovation,” Tinic said. “In this ever increasing interconnected world, IT plays a major role in everything from customer service to the efficient delivery of services. I look forward to continuing what I see as our legacy of driving technology to deliver exceptional solutions.”

Tinic joined Level 3 from TW Telecom, when Level 3 acquired it in 2014. He has gained 20 years' experience in IT architecture, system engineering and data management at companies including Bell Canada, Bell Sygma, Saville Systems and American Management Systems (AMS).

Jeff Storey, president and CEO of Level 3, said: “Andrew and Atilla are accomplished professionals with a clear passion for our company and our customers. Their leadership in these critical roles will help us to further our efforts to achieve optimal organizational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction and deliver innovative solutions for our customers now and into the future.”
