Citrix has announced the appointment of Sherif Seddik as its managing director and vice president for EMEA.

He assumes the role from acting VP Tom Flink, who filled in after Carlos Sartorius was appointed senior VP of worldwide sales and services.

Seddik will be responsible for the growth of Citrix’s operation across EMEA, “driving revenues, generating new business opportunities and cultivating the company’s valued partner ecosystem.”

Says Seddik: “I’m drawn to Citrix’s vision and proven ability to connect people to apps and data on any device, platform and through the cloud.

“Citrix offers such a unique value proposition and capability that allows customers to really take advantage of the promise of mobility and cloud computing.”

Seddik joins from Microsoft where he has served for the last five years as general manager of the vendor’s enterprise and partner group in western Europe where he was responsible for sales of software, devices and online services to Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customers.

“Sherif’s previous success in driving growth in a range of markets will be a great asset to the future success of Citrix business,” comments Sartorius. “He has experience with the channel, service provider and enterprise sales models. And he has consistently demonstrated an ability to grow and manage dynamic and large business in multilingual and cultural environments.”
