Nimans tees-up successful golf day

Suppliers and staff were in the swing as Nimans teed-up a successful golf day - just a ‘short drive’ from the company’s Manchester headquarters.

Golfers travelled from all four corners of the country to take part in the fun event at the Marriott Worsley Park Hotel and Country Club as eight teams competed for a variety of prizes – followed by a presentation ceremony and evening meal, attended by chairman and MD, Julian Niman.

A fourball, made-up of Richard Carter (Nimans, pictured), Paul Drabble (BT), Nigel Skinner (Ghekko Limited) and Andrew Doyle (GN Netcom) proved victorious.

James Emm, joint CEO at Oak Telecom, made a mammoth 500-mile round-trip from his home in Bournemouth, to support the event as one of the main sponsors – with his team finishing third.

He recalled afterwards: “What a superb day. Great people mixed with some fine golf made for a memorable occasion around a truly testing course. Even the famous Manchester rain held off as we were able to play in fine sunny weather. It may have been a long journey up for me but it was worth every mile.” He joked: “I was so surprised to see Mr Carter win again!”
