Storage and wireless networking firm Buffalo Technology has been selected by Arsenal FC to supply a full storage solution at its Hertfordshire-based training ground.
Arsenal FC had been faced with an increasing need for a solution that could keep player information and analysis data protected. After investigating storage solutions, Buffalo reseller Hardsoft Computers installed two of Buffalo’s TeraStation ES Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices.
In addition to the two NAS devices, Arsenal purchased eight MiniStation hard drives with hardware encryption to be used by the football analysis team, the medical staff and the coaches. Buffalo’s high-tech encryption ensures that confidential data remains safe and secure if the drives are ever misplaced or stolen.
Sean O’Connor, facilities manager at the Arsenal Training Ground says: “My job is not to manage IT so I really needed a solution that just worked; the TeraStation was easy to set up and configure and was up and running immediately.”
The MiniStation’s were also easy to use, he says. “The team love that the portable hard drives are plug-and-play as they can literally just plug them into their laptops and instantly access and upload data. The hardware encryption means that confidential information is fully protected by personal passwords. They are compact and lightweight so data can easily be transported and best of all, they come in red. It was like they were made just for Arsenal.”
Adds Philip Morgan, sales director at Hardsoft Computers: “We work with a lot of great manufacturers and felt that the Buffalo solution fitted the customer’s needs best. The staff at the Arsenal Training Ground required a secure storage method which was easy to configure, and through the implementation of two TeraStation’s, they have achieved this. We are confident in the Buffalo products and will continue to supply a range of its solutions.”
