Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL) has extended its North American distribution agreement with Avnet (NYSE: AVT) to EMEA.

Avnet will now offer the Nimble Adaptive Flash platform, along with SmartStack integrated infrastructure solutions to partners across Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK.

The vendor claims that SmartStack, which is based on Cisco UCS and Nimble CS-Series arrays, provide pre-validated reference architectures minimise the challenges associated with deploying application, server, hypervisor, networking, and storage components as an integrated solution.

“We’re experiencing strong demand and a rapid pace of customer adoption for SmartStack integrated infrastructure solutions, doubling customer implementations on a year-over-year basis. We attribute some of this impressive growth to the strength of the partnership we’ve had in place with Avnet over the past two years in North America,” says Clare Loveridge, VP of sales for EMEA at Nimble Storage.

“The strength of our partnership has led to the pan-EMEA expansion that will now enable our regional partners to increase sales and accelerate the speed at which they can offer pre-validated solutions to enterprise customers and prospects.”

Dieter Lott, vice president business development at Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA says the addition of Nimble to its vendor stable “has many advantages.”

He comments: “SmartStack integrated infrastructure solutions enhance our converged infrastructure portfolio by marrying the expertise of Avnet, Nimble and Cisco. Our extensive partnership with these two technology leaders reduces converged infrastructure architectural complexity and risk, making it more accessible to our partners to take to market. Delivering this simplicity enables partners to transform technology into business solutions for end-users.”

Avnet joins Arrow and Ingram in Nimble’s UK distribution line-up.

20 percent of Nimble’s business comes from outside US, with the UK its largest international market with “several hundred customers”.

Speaking to Channel Pro in July, Nimble CEO Suresh Vasudevan said the vendor was looking for 20-40 UK partners “that we want to go deep with."
