Bell Micro to offer LSI customisable storage systems

Man signing a contract

Bell Micro has entered into a European agreement with LSI Corporation (NYSE: LSI), in which it will sell the storage building block supplier’s new LSI CTS2600 family of configurable storage components, providing up to 57TB of SAS disk or 192TB of raw near line SAS.

The White Box offering is designed for small to midsize enterprises in direct-attached and SAN environments and offers multi-protocol host connectivity, mixed drive and mixed Enclosure support, simplified management and low power consumption. Additional features include the LSI SANtricity ES management software which offers optional, fully integrated replication features such as volume snapshot, volume copy and remote volume mirror.

The configuration allows systems builders and resellers to re-brand solutions as their own, assembling systems to their customers’ specifications without the need for costly stocking of pre-configured systems. Resellers can also take advantage of preconfigured and priced solutions.

“This new go-to-market offering is available immediately and will help our resellers both to differentiate themselves and to get better return on their storage system sales, whether they rebrand the boxes or sell them unbranded,” says Bell Micro’s Tom Ellis.

“Bell Micro has been an early adopter of LSI solutions for some years now, and the single largest distributor of our products in Europe, consistently outperforming our market expectations,” adds Thomas Pavel, channel sales director EMEA at LSI. “When the time came to explore new go-to-market opportunities, Bell Micro was an obvious choice to sell our complete solutions, not simply repackage components.”
