ExaGrid has announced a new strategic partnership with value-added distributor TIM AG, as the storage solution provider looks to bolster its presence in the DACH region.

The distributor supports system vendors in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, helping them tap into new markets and technologies. The firm also specialises in helping companies develop strategic alliances and sustainable business plans.

“We are looking forward to working with TIM AG, one of the leading value-added distributors in the DACH region,” commented Werner Van Unen, ExaGrid’s area vice president of Sales in EMEA.

“As a channel development partner and service provider, TIM offers a long-time experience in data centre solutions and partner enablement.”

ExaGrid’s Tiered Backup Storage offers a two-tiered approach that allows for speedy backup and restore performance, as well as low-cost efficiency.

The first, a front-end disk-cache Landing Zone called the Performance Tier, writes data directly to disk. This layer enables fast backups, the firm says, as well as restoration directly from disk for quick restores and VM boots.

The long-term retention data is tiered to a duplicated data repository - the Retention Tier – which reduces the amount of retention storage and the resulting cost.

“We create additional value and flexibility with our unique Tiered Backup Storage solution to support partners in projects and expanding their further data centre business,” Van Unen added.

Additionally, the vendor provides a scale-out architecture that allows for the addition of appliances as data grows. Each appliance includes processor, memory and network ports, which ensures that all resources required are available to maintain a fixed-length backup window.

The company says this eliminates the need for expensive forklift upgrades and allows for a versatile storage platform.

“With ExaGrid, we extend our portfolio in the DACH region with an innovative tiered backup solution for midrange and enterprise storage segments,” said Jörg Eilenstein, a member of the TIM AG Board of Directors.

“In addition, ExaGrid offers our retail partners a solution to recover from a ransomware primary data encryption event.”
