Nimble Storage expands EMEA channel team

Nimble Storage (NYSE:NMBL) has announced a number of senior hires across EMEA, including Peter Gibbs and Dan Cavanagh to lead channel sales and enablement across the region.

Clare Loveridge, VP of sales, EMEA says the appointments underscore the Silicon Valley flash storage vendor’s expanding investment in Europe.

“Both Peter and Dan bring years of IT sales and marketing expertise, which positions them well to support our expanding channel ecosystem across EMEA with go-to-market sales initiatives and enablement,” she comments.

Around 20 percent of Nimble’s growth comes from outside US, with the UK its largest international market with “several hundred customers”.

Nimble CEO Suresh Vasudevan last year said that as all of the vendor’s sales going through the channel, its focus in mature markets like the UK is more on partner enablement rather than recruitment.

Nimble veteran Gibbs been appointed director of channel sales in EMEA reporting directly to Leonard Iventosch, VP of worldwide channels. He will be responsible for the go-to-market delivery across the company’s EMEA partner ecosystem.

Prior to this appointment Gibbs was on the EMEA Cisco strategic alliances team at Nimble. Gibbs also served in a range of channel assignments through his 18-year tenure at Cisco, which included serving more than 12 years in the Cisco emerging markets partner organisation.

Cavanagh joins Nimble as a channel business development manager for the company’s EMEA business, reporting directly to Alvin DaCosta, senior director of worldwide channel marketing.

Drawing upon his experience serving in similar channel leadership assignments at HP, Dell, and CommVault, Nimble says that Cavanagh will be responsible for channel go-to-market strategy and enablement by “providing robust channel programmes, and leading business development and operations across EMEA.”

Elsewhere, Gabriel Chadeau has been appointed country manager for France.
