Storage vendor Tintri has recruited former HP and Hitachi Data Systems exec Nick Venables as its new UK & Ireland sales director.

Venables – who most recently had a spell as VP for EMEA at Virtual Instruments – is looking to guide Tintri through “its next stage of growth.”

“One of Tintri’s key strengths is our category-defining product, in order to support our loyal customer and partner network, we need to build upon our exceptional sales team in the UK & Ireland region, says Doug Rich, VP EMEA Tintri, which describes its technology as “VM-aware storage (VAS) for virtualised and cloud environments”.

“We are extremely pleased to be welcoming Nick Venables to the Tintri team. Nick’s background is perfectly suited to Tintri’s ethos – he has successfully led teams through stages of incredible growth and achieved impressive results. His expertise in storage, cloud computing and virtualisation will benefit Tintri by enabling us to help even more customers.”

“The storage industry continues to be defined by the constant and rapid evolution of the demands that businesses put upon technology to help serve both their customers and their own internal organisations,” says Venables.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining a company that is playing such a unique and defining role in dominating the future of the storage landscape. Tintri is well known for its VM-aware storage, specifically designed and created for virtualised environments and the opportunity to lead the UK&I business through its next stage of growth is fantastic. I am looking forward to working with the team as we enter yet another exciting year at Tintri.”
