A golf tournament in Buckinghamshire Golf Club last week has raised £21,000 for Sense International, a global charity supporting deafblind people in developing countries.

The tournament offered the opportunity to participants to play alongside professional and celebrity golfers including football legends Ray Clemence and Luther Blissett.

Employees from NEC Display Solutions participated in the golf day for the second year in a row, raising thousands for the charity’s ‘Finding Grace’ campaign. The campaign aims to raise funds for a pioneering programme to screen 300,000 infants in Kenya and Uganda for deafblindness. Between 10 June and 10 September 2015 the UK Government will match donations to the campaign pound for pound.

Sue Piper, head of corporate fundraising at Sense (pictured with former Liverpool goalkeeper Clemence, below) says: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone who attended the golf day in aid of Sense International. The money raised will help us set up the first screening services for young children with sensory and multi-sensory impairments in Kenya and Uganda. A million thanks to all who helped us raise this impressive sum!”

Simon Jackson, VP at NEC Display Solutions adds: “With what started as a broad AV industry association, I am touched by how staff at NEC have taken the Sense charity to heart and are challenging themselves personally to raise funds for this great cause. We are pleased to be working alongside Sense again for our second incredible fundraiser at Buckinghamshire Golf Club, offering a superb day of golf in beautiful surroundings and in great company!”
