Elton Birden joins Polycom UK as area sales vice president
Birden tasked with driving adoption of Polycom’s unified communications business

Polycom (NASDAQ: PLCM) has named Elton Birden as area sales vice president (ASVP) UK and Ireland.
Birden will be tasked with driving the adoption of Polycom’s unified communications technology throughout the region. Working closely with the EMEA sales president, Birden will develop and execute a sales strategy covering all aspects of Polycom’s commercial activities for sales in the region, including go-to-market strategies, high-touch strategy and channel strategy.
Prior to this appointment Birden held the position of managing director of NCR (NYSE: NCR) Northern Europe. Birden has also held senior positions within IBM and Unisys over the last 10 years.
“Unified communications is set to be the hot topic this year and I’m very much looking forward to driving the UK and Irish businesses further in Europe,” says Birden. “A key priority for me will be to capitalise on Polycom’s great reputation in Europe and grow the company’s market share in this dynamic and fast paced industry.”
“I am very pleased to have Elton join the leadership team in Europe,” adds Gary Rider, EMEA president, Polycom. “The way we communicate and collaborate is changing and Polycom is on the cusp of this evolution. I have every confidence Elton is the right man to help lead our European business onwards and upwards.”
