Mitel puts Trust in distribution
Mitel returns to a two-tier channel model with Trust deal

Unified Communications vendor Mitel is returning to a two-tiered channel model with the appointment of Lancashire-based Trust Distribution.
Trust will distribute Mitel’s SMB-focused 5000 Communications Platform (CP), and will to build partnerships with resellers with no current direct relationship with the vendor.
Mitel says the distributor’s focus on the 5000 CP is designed to enable it “to develop in-depth expertise around the platform and its applications and provide maximum added value through network consultancy and support services.”
Says Paul Hunter, Mitel brand manager for Trust Distribution: “Mitel has invested heavily in the 5000 CP and its applications, which was a big attraction to Trust.
“The market for unified and IP communications is growing significantly among smaller businesses and our agreement with Mitel aims to position Trust to help resellers tap into this opportunity.”
“The 5000 CP is well suited to a distribution model and Trust is well placed to service the small business market and broaden Mitel’s reach into that market,” adds Robert Hutton, sales director at Mitel. “By expanding our channel strategy to include distribution of the 5000 CP through Trust, we can further increase our penetration into SMBs and maximise the opportunities for all Mitel resellers in the growing IP and unified communications markets.”
This is Mitel’s first distributor appointment since it switched to a single tier in 2007.
