Unify names Thomas Veit SVP of channels
Unify recruits Avaya channel exec to lead the its channel business in EMEA and Russia

Unify has appointed Avaya channel exec Thomas Veit to lead the company’s channel business in EMEA and Russia
As senior vice president of channels for EMEAR, Veit will be responsible for all distribution channel activities in the region and will work to expand Unify’s business with new and existing partners.
Veit joins Unify from unified communications vendor Avaya, where he was managing director of international distribution, with responsibility for the distribution strategy for Avaya solutions across the region.
Before joining Avaya, Veit worked at SonicWALL as senior director of EMEA sales operations and emerging markets, as well as general manager at Ingram Micro EMEA and senior PAN-EMEA roles with Cisco, primarily in its channel organisation.
“Thomas brings a wealth of experience in building a successful channel business in Europe, and will be critical as we continue to work towards our goal of growing revenue through complementary indirect channels,” comments Jon Pritchard, executive VP of worldwide channels at Unify. “I am pleased to welcome Thomas to my team and look forward to working closely with him as Unify expands our business in the region.”
“Unify has made it clear that they are absolutely committed to making Unify the partner of choice for the collaboration and communication market, and I am excited to help lead the charge to grow the company’s channel business,” says Veit.
“Unify has a tremendous opportunity and with the company’s ‘channel-first’ approach, I look forward to helping move Unify’s indirect channel programme to the next level.”

In June Unify announced it was cutting staff by almost 50 percent, from 7,700 to 3,800 in order to streamline its business. With the increased adoption of cloud-based solutions and its competitors offering software-based solutions at a lower price, Unify said it has had to change tact in order to keep up.
