Aerohive expands distribution with Computerlinks

Wireless innovator Aerohive Networks has signed a distribution agreement with Computerlinks to strengthen its channel. The distributor has added the full Aerohive range to its wireless portfolio alongside rivals Ruckus and D-Link. Computerlinks will also offer the vendors network-as-a-service products to the channel as part of its own Alvea cloud.

Aerohive’s Branch on Demand is designed for small offices and teleworkers and claims to be the first managed service to offer wired and wireless access, performance and security management with optional 3G/4G WAN connectivity. The US version of the Network-as-a-service launched late last year and the UK equivalent has a similar list price of £75 per-site-per year for a BR100 Branch on Demand appliance and access to the AeroHive cloud management platform but excluding cellular network contracts.

According to Aerohive, adding another distributor will provide new routes to market and enable the firm to fulfil growing enterprise demand. Mark Powley, UK sales director at Aerohive added that “its channel is continuing to flourish with Exclusive and we’re excited to be working with two of the most disruptive and innovative distributors the UK has to offer.”

One growth area is the impending Olympics which says David Ellis, director of new technology and services at Computerlinks means, “remote and home working will become an imperative for London-based organisations.”

Branch on Demand is well suited to teleworkers which according to the UK Labour Force Survey equates to 2.2m people. “The demand for pay-as-you-go services is increasing as IT becomes more of a commodity. As Branch on Demand is a quick and easy product for resellers to deploy, we look forward to working with Aerohive to drive new revenues through the channel,” adds Ellis.
