Aruba unveils enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 6E
New offering features ultra tri-band filtering to minimize interference between 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands
Hewlett Packard Enterprise-owned Aruba Networks has announced a new offering to help businesses unlock Wi-Fi's full potential.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) opened the 6GHz band, the largest expansion of Wi-Fi capacity in nearly two decades, for unlicensed use in April 2020. Since then, 39 countries, including the US, have tapped the 6GHz band to support Wi-Fi 6E devices.
"Currently, as organizations increase their use of bandwidth-hungry video, cope with increasing numbers of client and IoT devices connecting to their networks, and speed up their transition to cloud, the demand for Wi-Fi continues to rise. As a result, wireless networks are becoming oversubscribed, throttling application performance," said Aruba.
To help organizations meet the mounting bandwidth demand, Aruba has unveiled an industry-first Wi-Fi 6E solution set, dubbed Aruba 630 Series Access Points, with comprehensive tri-band coverage across 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz.
The Aruba 630 Series APs is built on Aruba's cloud-native edge services platform (ESP) that analyzes data across domains in real-time, tracks anomalies, and self-optimizes while providing visibility into unknown devices.
The new solution offers up to seven 160MHz channels in 6GHz with 3.9Gbps maximum aggregate data throughput to better support low-latency, high-bandwidth services and applications, including high-definition video, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), internet of things (IoT), and cloud.
Two 2.5Gbps HPE Smart Rate ethernet ports offer hitless failover from one port to another for data and power, ensuring business continuity at all times. Additionally, the 630 Series APs adhere to WPA3 and Enhanced Open protocols for superior encryption and authentication.
