Eliminate interference from other appliances
Routers are susceptible to interference from other home appliances, including cordless phones, baby monitors and microwaves. This problem can sometimes be solved by purchasing -- or asking your ISP for -- a dual-band router (a router that emits signals over 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). However, it's also possible to replace your cordless phones and baby monitors with ones that operate on other bands. You can see more household appliances that can interfere with Wi-Fi in this article by our sister site, Alphr.
