Kaspersky Lab aims to improve security awareness with a training platform
Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform teaches 350 new skills to all levels
Kaspersky has made it its mission to better educate staff about security and the risk they pose to a business if they don't have the basic knowledge to keep data secure.
Although the company recognises that such training is an added expense, it knows something must be done to eradicate the threat.
The company's Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform addresses these two key challenges: monitoring employee risk, while offering a platform for workers to learn about the latest vulnerabilities and problems their organisation may experience.
Kaspersky's web-based learning system offers the latest insights as well as micro training for employees to train in all aspects of cyber security, from beginner to advanced levels.
Each of the sessions last between two and 10 minutes and aim to teach or strengthen 350 skills overall to workers, whatever stage they're at on the security spectrum.
It also employs gamification features to keep employees engaged and relating incidents to real life, making it easier to absorb.
"Our aim was to create an easy-to-manage, web-based tool that would help companies balance security competence levels for different groups of employees," said Slava Borilin, security education program manager at Kaspersky Lab.

The platform is available as a monthly subscription for organisations, making it more affordable compared to an intensive security training course and it can also be customised to fit in with a business's training schedule.
"Through a micro-learning approach and automated learning paths we hope to engage staff as well as ensure easy acquisition of skills and prevent obliteration," Borilin added.
"This approach is particularly relevant for small businesses, which do not have experienced staff or resources to manage an efficient security awareness program."
