Cloud-based compliance specialist Trustwave has unveiled a new channel programme that integrates “the best features” of M86 Security’s partner programme with its own.

Trustwave acquired M86 Security in March 2012, adding web security, email security and advanced anti-malware technology to its security portfolio along with M86 Security’s than 25,000 customers worldwide. At the time of the acquisition, Trustwave announced plans to adopt and expand M86 Security’s partner programme.

Now, with the launch the Trustwave PartnerFocus Programme, the firm says it has taken parts of M86’s programme and expanded it to offers, according to Mike Bartlett, senior VP of sales for Trustwave: “hundreds of new tools and resources, along with dedicated sales, marketing and technical support.”

In addition, Trustwave channel partners will be able to offer their customers managed security services, as Gartner estimates the market will almost double in size to almost $15bn by 2015. The vendor recently announced that its own managed security services sales grew 148 percent from the first half of 2011 to the first half of 2012.

The new programme now includes deal registration, a new Global PartnerFocus Portal, offering more than 500 new and refreshed data sheets, marketing templates and sales tools that partners can co-brand, as well as on-demand training that includes certified sales professional training modules across all products. Trustwave says it also plans to offer Certified Sales Engineer training in the near future.

Alex Teh, founder of Trustwave distributor Vigil Software says he is delighted to see Trustwave’s expansion of the M86 programme. “This programme offers an excellent level of support, access to information and high margin retention and is exactly what our partners’ need to effectively sell Trustwave products in today’s business environment,” he adds.
