Cyber security provider Sophos has expanded its UK distribution network by striking two new partnership deals with Tech Data and Giacom.

From November 2021, both distributors' network of channel partners will have access to the firm’s complete portfolio of cyber security solutions – including threat response services. The pair join Arrow ECS to complete Sophos' line-up of distributors.

“Both are well established to support the growing needs of their own and Sophos’ channel partners,” commented Jonathan Bartholomew, Sophos’ vice president of sales for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Nordics.

“The onboarding of two additional distributors further advances our mission to provide partners with the best and most complete set of cyber security solutions in the market that help organisations defend against ransomware and other cyber attacks.”

Both Tech Data and Giacom will deliver Sophos’ complete range of products and services, which include Sophos Intercept X, Sophos Firewall, and Managed Threat Response (MTR).

As one of the largest distributors in the UK, Sophos said Tech Data will be able to provide channel partners with the staffing and tools they need to accelerate growth - such as in-depth sales, technical and renewal support.

“We have the tools, platforms, automated processes, and resources to support every aspect of their enablement and business development,” added Alison Nixon, director – security, Tech Data Advanced Solutions, UK and Ireland. “The deal also provides access to the trusted strength, breadth and scale of Tech Data and the expertise of our specialist security practice.

“From day one, we will be making the full scope and range of our capabilities available, to ensure partners can offer their end-user customers the very best protection and keep pace with the rapid pace of change in cybersecurity.”

Giacom is also suitably positioned to support the Sophos partner base, offering cloud software solutions through its Cloud Market management portal. Partners will have access to highly trained and certified sales, technical support and customer service teams, as well as sales, marketing, technical and training resources.

“As a prominent brand in the cybersecurity space, Sophos increases the strength of our own security portfolio,” said Mike Wardell, chief executive officer at Giacom. “To be chosen by Sophos as a key distributor is excellent recognition of Giacom’s reputation and market leading position.

“Giacom and Sophos share many of the same values and we look forward to continuing to provide Sophos partners excellent customer service.”
