Wick Hill chosen as VAD for Tenable security portfolio
SecurityCentre is a big opportunity for resellers, providing overview of a customer’s security set-up
Tenable Network Security has announced it has chosen Wick Hill to be its UK VAD, distributing its SecurityCenter Continuous View and Nessus products.
Wick Hill’s chairman, Ian Kilpatrick, tells Channel Pro: “Offering these two products keeps the channel very close to customers because you have effectively an overview of their security and network and you know what’s going on that network and can be more involved in monitoring and providing those solutions.
“This is a market area that is being driven by daily headlines about how large organisations who think they’re secure aren’t secure and these solutions allow you to remediate vulnerabilities so you don’t find yourself in the position of large organisations.”
He went on to explain that Nessus has an existing customer base, but it sees SecurityCentre as a big growth opportunity for the channel and it’s all on renewable revenue, making it a more attractive solution for organisations looking to move to a more efficient billing structure.
“With Nessus, we expect a considerable amount of net new and expansion in sales for existing resellers,” says Kilpatrick. “For the SecurityCentre, we will be looking for a smaller number of targeted resellers because it’s an enterprise-level. SecurityCentre is built on the core of Nessus so those people who have already sell Nessus today can come to us for training and can increase their portfolio by becoming a reseller for SecurityCentre.”
Wayne Hollinshead, director of channel sales for EMEA at Tenable explained it chose Wick Hill because it has extensive experience distributing security products.
“Wick Hill’s reputation for value added distribution and partner network, coupled with a proven track record of providing leading-edge enterprise security solutions, make them an ideal partner for Tenable as we continue to expand our position as the leading provider of continuous network monitoring solutions in the UK and globally.”
