SecureData recruits Marty Legg to head-up Cloud Services

Security VAR SecureData has today strengthened its cloud offering by appointing a new cloud services director to spearhead the business.

Marty Legg (pictured) joins SecureData from Alternative Networks, where he was enterprise sales director. In this new role he will be responsible for integrating existing security and network performance solutions into SecureData’s cloud strategy, with the aim of transforming how the firm’s customers build, manage and consume IT services.

In addition, Legg will oversee SecureData’s cloud surveillance team, which uses cloud technologies to correlate data across multiple data sets to deliver threat mitigation solutions and an analytics engine.

SecureData CEO, Etienne Greeff, comments: “Marty brings a wealth of experience which will enable us to accelerate the transition of our capabilities to the cloud and offer customers options for how they consume core security services. Developing our cloud capabilities is one of our key strategies for enabling a complete security approach to assess risk, detect threats earlier, protect valuable assets and respond quickly when there is a breach.”

Adds Legg: “The best method to combat the ever increasing complexity and sophistication of security threats is to be able to correlate data across multiple platforms and develop an intelligent picture of what is happening on the network. SecureData is a leading organisation that has some of the very best technologies which enable us to do this.

“These technologies, combined with the company’s talented workforce and pedigree of delivering services make working at SecureData an extremely exciting proposition.”
