Network security vendor Arbor Networks has announced Colin Gray will be responsible for driving the firm’s sales and channel initiatives in EMEA as its new vice president for the region.

Gray has held senior international and global VP roles at companies such as Network Associates, NetScreen, Ciphertrust, BigFix and ChangeBASE, and brings solutions expertise across security, applications delivery, infrastructure management and compliance to his new role at Arbor.

Arbor Networks has been active in EMEA for more than a decade and its customers include network operators including Liquid Telecom, Ooredoo, Bezeq International Ltd., and depulsio.

“Arbor has seen rapid growth in EMEA among service providers, mobile operators and enterprise organisations, as all are dealing with the ever-growing DDoS threat. However, we’ve seen a recent uptick among hosting providers where the threat of DDoS is an incredible concern given the multi-tenant nature of their business model, where one attack against a hosting provider can result in a catastrophic domino effect,” explains Colin Doherty, president of Arbor Networks.

“In addition, we’ve recently signed some of the largest global enterprises headquartered in EMEA across the financial services, e-Commerce and gaming sectors; it’s a very hot and growing region for us. With Colin Gray at the helm in EMEA, I’m confident that his leadership and industry expertise will help us continue to grow and expand in the region.”

“Arbor brings an incredible mix of innovative technology and deep domain expertise to network operators who continue to battle the DDoS and advanced malware threats targeting them today I’” adds Gray. “I’m looking forward to helping them expand even deeper into EMEA in the months and years ahead.”
