Infosys to help Daimler attain sustainable mobility

Infosys has partnered with Lefdal Mine Datacenter to facilitate Daimler’s move to sustainable mobility.
Norway's Lefdal Mine Datacenter is reportedly one of Europe's greenest data centers. In support of Daimler’s "Ambition 2039" initiative, Infosys will relocate Daimler's high-performance computing (HPC) workloads to Lefdal Mine Data Center under its Cobalt Green Data Center as a Service offering.
“The shift to Green Data Center as a Service is an important milestone in supporting Daimler deliver on its sustainability mission "Ambition 2039" to become CO2 neutral by 2039,” explained Infosys.
Norway’s 100% renewable power production, combined with minimal transmission losses, makes it a "superpower" for green data centers. Additionally, Lefdal Mine Datacenter provides sustainable data center solutions through its air- and water-cooled computing capacities.
Unlike conventional air-cooled data centers, the Lefdal Mine Datacenter does not require evaporative cooling to operate efficiently during warm weather. For effective cooling, the data center is located in a mine next to a deep, cold fjord that is stable and has a low temperature.
The Green Data Center is the newest addition to Infosys Cobalt’s Hybrid Cloud portfolio, which also includes regional private data centers spanning all major continents, edge data centers, and hyperscalers.
