Ex-Novell exec to lead Progress Software in EMEA

Ex-Novell channel head Dan Veitkus is taking the reigns as VP and general manager for EMEA at Progress Software, (NASDAQ: PRGS), a vendor of application infrastructure software.

Veitkus will be responsible for managing the firm’s sales, professional services and support organisation across the region.

Explains Chris Larsen, executive VP of global field operations at Progress Software: “Progress has established a large base of customers and partners in Europe for more than 25 years and is represented in the major countries across the region. With the addition of Dan, Progress is well-positioned for increased market share as an enterprise software partner of choice, enabling our customers to be more operationally responsive.”

Commenting on his appointment Veitkus says: “Progress Software has long been the product and solution partner of choice for customers and partners in EMEA. The company’s solutions underpin a broad array of Europe's largest companies and we are proud of the accolades we have earned, such as providing solutions to the top ten European banks in the region. It will remain our top priority to deliver outstanding solutions, software and support to our stakeholders and extend our brand and achievements in the region.”
