GFI Software has announced Amazon as its first retail partner for GFI VIPRE Antivirus Lifetime Edition.

After consumer retail trials of the Lifetime format in the US, GFI Software is launching VIPRE Antivirus Lifetime in the UK via Amazon, the UK’s largest online-only retailer.

GFI acquired the flagship VIPRE antivirus range following its takeover of Sunbelt Software in July.

“The sheer scale of Amazon’s reach within the UK gives us the platform we need to alert consumers to the retail launch of VIPRE Antivirus Lifetime,” says Alex Eckelberry, general manager of GFI Software’s Security Business Unit.

VIPRE Antivirus Lifetime features antivirus, antispyware and firewall, alongside lifetime protection and antivirus definition updates. Consumers pay only the one-off retail price for the product and will receive virus definition updates for the life of the PC on which it is first installed.

“By offering VIPRE Lifetime for a compelling and affordable one-off price, retailers such as Amazon can take full advantage of up-selling and cross-selling opportunities, while consumers get peace-of-mind and a substantial saving on the cost of antivirus software compared with annual renewals over the average life of a PC,” adds Eckelberry.
