Desktop and application virtualisation software vendor Systancia has announced the appointment of Andy Boyle as its new sales manager to head up the UK.

Boyle has spent the last 10 years establishing US and European thin client and virtualisation software companies in the UK and EMEA market. He is a senior sales executive with a 20-year track record in the IT industry, the last 15 years of which have been spent in management positions, predominantly working for companies such as Wyse Technology and Symantec.

Boyle will be responsible for building the company’s sales and market share in the UK market. Following positions at Wyse Technology and Igel technology, where Andy established them as leading vendors within the thin client market, he was most recently at Symantec, which acquired Appstream in 2008. In this role, Andy was instrumental in launching the Symantec Endpoint Virtualisation Business unit in EMEA.

Boyle comments: “I’m delighted to be joining Systancia at an exciting time for the company and to be part of their on-going expansion plan. As businesses look for new ways of improving efficiency and making better use of their company’s IT resources, the application and desktop virtualisation market offers the perfect solution. Providing the ultimate ‘hot desk’ environment it is possible for businesses to reap the benefits of virtualisation. I’m looking forward to building Systancia’s presence in the UK to match its dominance in the French market.”
