Across industries, companies are racing to integrate advanced technologies such as AI and cloud computing to stay competitive and meet growing demands for efficiency, personalization, and sustainability. The manufacturing industry alone is seeing an unprecedented wave of innovation, with AI projected to play a crucial role in optimizing processes, boosting productivity, and driving global collaboration.

As industries face increasing pressure to innovate and adapt, Huawei is positioning itself as a trusted partner in intelligent transformation. With AI and cloud technologies at the heart of its solutions, Huawei is empowering businesses across manufacturing, retail, and real estate to operate more efficiently and make data-driven decisions.

AI spending across industries is expected to hit $33 billion in 2024, according to IDC. This really underscores the growing importance of integrating AI into enterprise operations.

As part of this movement, Huawei’s Manufacturing and Large Enterprises Business Unit has emerged as a key player, launching ten intelligent solutions designed to harness the power of AI, cloud, and data to transform industries.

Speaking at the Global Manufacturing and Large Enterprises Summit at Huawei Connect 2024, Tao Jingwen, director of the board and president of the quality, business process and IT management department at Huawei, emphasized the pivotal role of AI and cloud technologies in transforming traditional business models.

He said that companies should take advantage of the two super tools — cloud and AI — to achieve their primary business objectives. By integrating technology with processes, organizations, IT tools, data, and business scenarios, companies can generate new value.

This vision is brought to life through Huawei’s suite of ten intelligent solutions, launched at the event. These solutions span multiple industries, from manufacturing to retail and real estate, and leverage AI to automate processes, improve decision-making, and drive high-quality growth.

Liu Chao, CEO of the manufacturing and large enterprise business unit at Huawei, stressed that the company is committed to becoming the preferred partner for global enterprises seeking to embrace intelligent transformation. With a focus on scenario-based digitalization and intelligent infrastructure, Huawei is helping enterprises unlock the full potential of AI, amplifying intelligence across entire ecosystems.

Smart manufacturing: Building intelligent factories

At Huawei Connect 2024, the company unveiled its upgraded Intelligent Factory Solution, which offers a comprehensive approach to transforming traditional factories into connected, AI-powered production hubs. This solution builds on existing digital infrastructure by integrating AI-driven applications that streamline manufacturing processes, enhance production efficiency, and foster collaboration across global teams.

Huawei’s Intelligent Factory Solution enables factories to harness data at every step — from design and R&D to production and sales—resulting in more agile and responsive manufacturing operations. The solution’s lean production principles allow enterprises to optimize workflows, automate routine tasks, and make informed decisions using real-time data.

For example, Huawei's work with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC) illustrates how the solution can drive significant value. By investing heavily in its digital transformation and leveraging Huawei’s technologies and solutions, JAC has accelerated its transition toward intelligent manufacturing, boosting production efficiency and improving product quality.

Moreover, the solution facilitates the creation of intelligent systems that connect every element of the production chain, from raw materials and logistics to equipment and maintenance, offering a unified platform for collaboration.

Smart retail: Unlocking new growth

The retail industry is undergoing a profound transformation as consumers demand more personalized and seamless shopping experiences. At Huawei Connect 2024, Huawei unveiled its Smart Retail Solution, aimed at empowering retailers to harness the power of AI to boost growth through omnichannel strategies and intelligent supply chain management. This solution addresses key challenges such as integrating online and offline customer journeys, improving operational efficiency, and delivering tailored shopping experiences.

As retailers increasingly rely on AI to analyze consumer demands and predict trends, Huawei’s solution offers tools for personalized marketing and real-time demand forecasting and promotes lean operations throughout the R&D, production, supply, sales, and service processes.

Kevin Kong, general manager of Huawei’s enterprise logistics & retail account department, emphasized the importance of AI-driven solutions in helping retailers remain competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace. For instance, Huawei’s collaboration with Rainbow Digital Commercial has demonstrated how AI can transform brick-and-mortar stores, enhancing customer engagement and optimizing operations with the Bailingniao AI model.

Smart real estate: Transforming spaces with intelligence

In the traditionally slow-moving real estate industry, Huawei’s Smart Real Estate Solution is driving intelligent upgrades across the entire property lifecycle — from planning and construction to operations and management. Unveiled at Huawei Connect 2024, this solution empowers real estate companies to adopt digital and intelligent technologies, helping them manage properties more efficiently and sustainably.

Zhao Bo, the chief expert of China government and enterprise real estate business at Huawei, outlined how AI and digital infrastructure are transforming the real estate sector by enabling smart spaces and intelligent business scenarios. The solution is designed to cater to a variety of real estate settings, from individual buildings to large-scale campuses and urban developments. In collaboration with industry partners, Huawei is helping companies like China Tourism Group Hotel Holdings introduce intelligent technologies that improve operations, reduce energy consumption, and elevate the overall customer experience.

The future of enterprise with Huawei

For businesses in manufacturing, AI is not just about improving production; it’s about creating agile, intelligent systems that can anticipate market shifts, optimize processes, and enhance product development. Retailers are similarly transforming, with AI enabling hyper-personalized shopping experiences and real-time inventory management. Meanwhile, real estate companies are embracing digital governance and smart spaces, driving sustainability and operational efficiency.

Huawei’s commitment to digital transformation is evident in its continued investment in cutting-edge technologies and its collaboration with partners across various industries. This positions the company as a leader in helping enterprises navigate the complexities of the digital era and unlock new value with AI.

Huawei continues to push the boundaries of innovation. Stay tuned for the Gitex Global event, where Huawei will unveil more groundbreaking solutions designed to further empower large enterprises and the manufacturing sector.

As the digital landscape evolves, Huawei remains committed to delivering intelligent solutions that amplify the potential of AI and cloud technologies, enabling businesses to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
